the “nice guys” really have mastered emotional manipulation and weaponizing friendship and the vulnerability that comes with it….the condescending “why won’t girls date nice guys like me?” implying that women don’t have the brain cells to make right choices when rejecting them (!!!) because they are the only respectable option, clearly. and their reaction to this rejection would be appalling if we weren’t familiar with the tired old practice of guys telling people a girl is a slut just because she turned him down. don’t even get me started on the arrogant belief that performing the basic (but to them completely tiresome and trivial) ritual of friendship–empathizing and providing emotional comfort–is a token you can use in exchange for sex. they’re angry because they haven’t put in the genuine, organic emotional labor required to make connections with people, and the consequences are apparent. it’s easy and lazy to blame women for your romantic inadequacies
